[Attachment 47705 - Click to enlarge]Each of my videos will start with the same "cover" image. Near the bottom of that image I left a box for the text title of that video. I can get the title text into that box, but I cannot get just the text to fade in, or page turn. The entire scene reflects the video transition.
Among other attempts, I've tried turning the video title text into an avi by itself, set the background to transparent and tried to tie the transform to that video, but my transitions / transforms still affect the entire scene.
I've searched this forum and the internet and looked at all the VSDC videos I could. Among the Google keywords I've used are "VSDC text" and "VSDC subtitle". Lots of hits but nothing that specifically shows how to treat the text / subtitle separate from the background.

This is usually done in your NLE, and should be straightforward, once you understand how the overlay functions work. What editor are you using?
-
VSDC is supposed to be a NLE (I tried it a while back, it's not very good - and that's being "nice")
Unless something has changed with the editor, the answer is you select the text layer, and apply the transition to the text layer directly . -
Oh, I didn't realize that VSDC was an NLE. So, my post isn't very useful. Sorry about that.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try creating an animated text-only video and add that to the scene after resizing. Hold good thoughts for me

If the text is from the internal text tool (with text title box), you just apply the effect to the text layer , not the background jpg layer
-
What I did was highlight the text layer and tried the page turn transition. It seemed to work when I ran the text layer only. But when I went back to run the entire scene, it page turned the entire background with the text.
I confirmed that the page-turn connected to the text in the Object explorer, not the background image.
So I went back, deleted the text layer. Made a video, loaded it as a subtitle, edited for transparency and moved it to the bottom of the scene. I then added a fade in and it works. But this seems really the hard way to do it. Here's a screen shot of the editor
