Hi, need a bit of help. Have got some HD .ts files from my Humax Foxsat.

If I use Avidemux to convert to mkv they do play on my media player (Kodi/Pi) but not on my phone but on my media player the closing titles are nice and smooth like the original.

Avidemux does the conversion very quickly so it is not re-encoding.

I now have tried many video conversion software as listed on the top of this forum. But what ever I seem to do, the scrolling titles are jerky. But the do play on my media player & phone.

The input Frame rate is 25FPS and so is the file after conversion, what am I doing wrong, what do I need to look out for when I set the various parameters for conversion.

All of the software I have tried takes a while so it is being re-encoded.

    Regards Dave

Without a sample, even without a MediaInfo analysis, I can only guess that your original content might be interlaced. So you may have to do your recoding not frame based, but field based instead, to preserve the 50 fps of the fields in newly encoded frames and to avoid messing up your video due to scaling vertically across alternating lines.

It is pretty common to e.g. downscale 1080i video to 720p, using a deinterlacer with bobber. The most elaborate one with probably the best possible results is QTGMC, but it requires founded knowledge of AviSynth scripting and a selection of several plugins with matching versions; converter applications of easier use may also provide TDeint or Yadif as quite good deinterlacers which can interpolate both fields to frames with double rate.

Have you tried MKVToolnix? Also post a MediaInfo report on one of the files.

Try putting it in a MKV container using MKVToolnix. You can drag and drop the file. You will also have the opportunity to untick any elements you don't need like subs etc and or unnecesary additional sound tracks. Should only take a few minutes to do. There may have been some transmissions errors so in this case run the TS file through TSDoctor first and see what that does. You can get a free fully functional trial version.
