I can't find the right section for this topic.
I'm trying to print a MPEG-2 video to a blank D-VHS tape using the JVC HM-DH5U, But I couldn't get the deck to start recording using CapDVHS in write mode, I could capture non copyrighted D-VHS and VHS tapes using either CapDVHS or VLC but not the other way around, I couldn't find other applications to try out like DVHStool, All links are dead.
I've tried both Windows XP and 7 64bit, neither worked, I don't have a 32bit machine to try.
Both laptop and D-VHS deck communicate and display each other names.
Here is the file info:

Problem solved!
First, The recording to a firewire device can only happen in Windows XP for whatever reason, Windows 7 cannot detect a firewire recording device, It can capture from firewire with no problems.
Second, The file has to be transport stream with a constant video bitrate.
I dug out one of my old hard drives and found a copy of DVHStool app.
Both CapDVHS and DVHSTool worked with no flaws, However, DVHSTool have the capability to control the tape transport, Record/Stop, Can record multiple files in sequence and creates a blank leader at the start of the tape before it starts laying down the data, While CapDVHS only streams the data, you have to manually put the machine in record before you send the video file and stop at the end of the file, Not ideal if you are not around the machine. -
Very interesting.
Has anyone tried it with PAL deck?
By the way, if you have the DVHSTool, could you send me a copy, because it is not in software section of Videohelp.
UPDATE: Found it, it's accessible using the link to the manufacturer's website.Last edited by SF01; 10th May 2019 at 06:45.

I would also like a copy of DVHSTool. Pretty please? With sugar on top?
Your miserable life is not worth the reversal of a Custer decision. -
DVHDTool is easily downloadable from the internet, if you know where and how to look for it. I won't spoil you the fun.

Well, noone helped me find it. If I could have found it with my limited english skills, then other people can too. And believe me it was a very educating and amusing process, rather than a waste of time. Also I respect the copyright law. Especially that the program is easily downloadable from the manufacturer's website, if you know some internet tricks.
