I found this on Amazon, it says on the box FOR PROFESSIONAL USE. Has anyone tried them or heard of this new line of CD-R and DVD-R Thermal and Silver Shiny being promoted by Ritek.

The only reference I find on our DVD Media page is this: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia?dvdmediasearch=ridata&dvdmediadvdridsearch=&type=1&...+or+List+Media

However, without the exact media code, hard to tell what they are. The page above is mostly from 2006.
DVD media is made by many companies and rebranded with many names.

Some different Ridata 16X DVD-R from Newegg:

+1 to the OP for asking before buying!

Ridata/Ritek has never made top quality media and it's extremely unlikely they've started now: http://www.digitalfaq.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm.

The only known and recommended quality DVD media are Verbatim AZO and Taiyo Yuden:

    https://www.amazon.com/Verbatim-DVD-R-4-7GB-Recordable-Media/dp/B003ZDNZT2/ref=sr_1_2_...atim+azo&psc=1

    https://www.amazon.com/Taiyo-Yuden-DVD-R-Inkjet-J-DMR-JVC-IJB-SK/dp/B00W4UMUG6/ref=sr_...ds=taiyo+yuden

Read the posts on these links for the latest discussions about Vebatim AZO (and how to recognize fakes) and Taiyo Yuden:

Also, don't be mislead by M-Disc claims of quality and longevity. All reviews point to it just being marketing. Stick with Verbatim AZO and Taiyo Yuden.
