guys... i'm trying to capture video from some very poor quality vhs tapes (lots of grain and tracking noise, etc). unfortunately, as soon as i start capturing, i drop frames BIG-TIME (>30%!). i've tried using huffyuv and even uncompressed, but to no avail. i know the quality of the tape is responsible because a can capture from a good quality pre-recorded vhs with minimal frame loss (5%). what i don't understand is WHY i'm dropping so many frames when capturing from the poor quality tapes, especially when my cpu usage never exceeds 25%! my system spec is:
amd athlon xp1600+
512mb ddr ram
40gb 7200rpm hdd
wintv pci
geforce2 mx200 32mb
windows xp pro
has anyone else had this problem? is there anything i can do?? i'm pulling my hair out here!!! thanks guys.
