I've been noticing a strange issue on my 520E ever since I converted it from a 520 (NTSC). Whenever I use it to digitize analog video, whether it be from an analog PAL device or a tape, I have noticed this very weird B&W stripe on the side that I didn't notice before the conversion. Well, it was there, just not as prominently. I don't think it has anything to do with the tape drive given that it occurs with any analog video stream. This is visible from both the analog and digital video output. Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix? Or if it's even worth fixing?Image

It looks like early chroma, which leaves a stripe of colorless video at the right side. There's a ChromaShift filter in AviSynth that should fix it.

  3. Probably a halo from an analog sharpening filter combined with subsampled chroma.
