  1. I downloaded a DVD rip in divx format.
But if I try to convert it to MPG I get no video but only Audio.
The program i used was 'TMPGEnc-2.53.35.130'

If I try to open the movie in Virtualdub I also get no video but only audio.

The movie works perfect in Media player (DIVX format)

Does anybody know how i can convert my movie to Mpeg1/2?

  2. slow down dude, what do you mean you tried to open it in virtual dub and got no video? In virtual dub all you are doing is extracting the audio. what guide did you follow? or What exactly did you do after downloading this file?

  3. I try to convert it to MPEG with TMPGEnc.
But if I use that is get no video but only audio.
    And on this page: http://httpd.chello.nl/~j.keuning2/videocd/en/index.html
I read I can try to convert it to Huffyuv Compression.
I tried that in Virtualdub but I get the same problems as in TMPGEnc

So I cannot convert it to MPEG. That's the problem. Maybe the guide I used wasn't right.
    I don't know.
    I'm new in this...

  4. Ok Now that you have found this site use the guides that are here. That guide looks to me like its a guide for dvd>vcd. STart over with the original avi file. Use virtual dub to convert the audioo then use tmpgenc. I use the first guide under convert.

  7. Yes in Mediaplayer I can watch the movie.
But the really strange thing is that DVD rips from myself work
but DVD rips from the internet don't

  8. yea i'm having this same problem too... before I use to be able to just burn the divx in nero as a vcd and it'll autoconvert it, but i did it last night and it didn't work. not sure what's worng with it, im wondering if it's cause of the new divx 5 codec? I know I reformatted since last time I tried, and I think i had divx 4 codec. anyone have any ideas?

  9. I too am having the same problem .. I think it's Divx 5 that's causing it, my problem it the AVI wont play correctly if I roll back to 4 .. I get this bar that blocks across the bottom of the AVI without 5.

I was hoping to find the answer here, but evendently there's no resolve yet ...
