i'm trying to download from this site:
https://www.btn2go.com/game/wisconsin-at-purdue-on-11172018
with urlsnooper, i get this as the only return for a m3u8 filter:
http://nlds74.dal.neulion.com/play?url=%2Fnlds%2Fbtn2go%2Fbtn19%2Fas%2Flive%2F74%2Fbtn...btn2go&nltdt=0
but when i load it into livestreamer using this code:
livestreamer "hlsvariant://http://nlds74.dal.neulion.com/play?url=%2Fnlds%2Fbtn2go%2Fbtn19%2Fas%2Flive%2F74 %2Fbtn19_hd_pc&plid=46d10a3561c54ee9fa158bd8613ae5 20&auth_key=899fbc9645829af5d1d0e3fa37bd7c27-1542641945-32-*.m3u8;*.ts;*.mp4&nltid=btn2go&nltdt=0" best -o game.ts
i get this error:
error: failed to parse playlist: missing #EXTM3U header
note: the site i'm trying to dl from does require a login from a cable provider.
any help would be greatly appreciated!

youtube-dl Adobe Pass Options: https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/blob/master/README.md#options

thanks for the response, LZAA.
so, i need to use the adobe pass options to insert my cable provider login and password before the url?
sorry, i'm a noob. -
i tried using the following script in youtube-dl (with my login and pasword xxx'ed out here):
youtube-dl --ap-username xxxx --ap-password xxxx http://nlds74.dal.neulion.com/play?url=%2Fnlds%2Fbtn2go%2Fbtn19%2Fas%2Flive%2F74 %2Fbtn19_hd_pc&plid=46d10a3561c54ee9fa158bd8613ae5 20&auth_key=899fbc9645829af5d1d0e3fa37bd7c27-1542641945-32-*.m3u8;*.ts;*.mp4&nltid=btn2go&nltdt=0
and i just get a long list of error messages.
not sure what i'm doing wrong.
sorry i'm being a pain.

mito0,
LZAA is a computer (bot) and therefore cannot provide clear explanations. I looked at the github link that it gave and found this that might help you:
Adobe Pass Options:
--ap-mso MSO Adobe Pass multiple-system operator (TV
provider) identifier, use --ap-list-mso for
a list of available MSOs
--ap-username USERNAME Multiple-system operator account login
--ap-password PASSWORD Multiple-system operator account password.
If this option is left out, youtube-dl will
ask interactively.
--ap-list-mso List all supported multiple-system
operators
If you are able to figure it out and download, please post the EXACT code (with your username/password xed out) so that I can learn how to do it. It is unfortunate for videohelp.com, which is supposed to be a hobby/learning website to have bots that only post a mega.nz link with no explanation of how to actually download the video for ourselves. -
hi jimdagys, thanks for the information.
i tried the script without the --ap-username and --ap-password, and it did not ask interactively, so i can only assume the login and password are not necessary for the script. i guess that's how it works?
i'm just not an expert at this stuff, so there are only so many other things i know to try.
i was hoping some of the more advanced users here would be able to look at what i was doing and figure it out.
