  1. Hello,

I have a particular error regarding editting the x264 configurations in MeGUI. I was wondering what the correct forum would be to post such a thing and get help on the issue?

  3. This looks like a configuration error, what are you trying to do? What settings are you using?
Configure your settings, save it with a name then export it with CTRL + E.

  5. None the less, I have uploaded the default #264 *Scratchpad* preset in which I am getting the error from.

  6. Code:
    <VideoEncodingType>quality</VideoEncodingType>
    [...]
    <QuantizerCRF>700</QuantizerCRF>
It's outside the allowed range for CRF. (No idea how it got that way in the first place ... )

Simply delete the xml file. MeGUI should create a new one with the standard values.

Do you mind explaining how I could locate this particular XML, I am unfamiliar.

*EDIT never mind. I managed to find it, I will look into trying your method.

Ok, I deleted it. MeGUI however has not created a new x264 *Scratchpad* preset. Even when reinstalling the package.

  8. *Update

Ok, since the file would not automatically return. I attempted to manually adjust the value to a "safer" value.
MeGUI does not recognize the file on opening and searching the listing of encoders. When I close MeGUI, it also deletes the file.

    *Final Update

Ok, so I deleted my MeGUI folder and reinstalled it. Now I can access #264 *Scratchpad* If others ever have this problem with #264 *scratchpad* config error:

    1. Locate the #264 preset, delete the xml file.
    2. If it MeGUI does not function after that point. Reinstall MeGUI.

  9. If you delete the x264 scratchpad xml file, you should be able to open the x264 configuration, change any setting, click okay, and MeGUI will create a new one. If you have other x264 presets and you select one of those before opening the x264 configuration, you'd do exactly the same thing, but when you click okay, MeGUI will ask if you want to update the preset or save the changes to scratchpad. It'll create a new scratchpad xml file for the latter.

  10. I mean, it's not actually important to have the xml file. The scratchpad will work anyway. The end goal is to encode h.264, not xml files.
