Cannot convert 4K MKV to MOV or MP4 without color issues

Have a 30 second 4K HDR MKV clip. I have tried every editor (OS X) I can find and I have even paid for 2. (Easefab and Wondershare). Have also tried every setting possible.
Trying to get it to 4K MP4 or MOV.

The video has rich HDR color. When it enters those video editing programs for conversion, the rich color becomes washed out/dull/faded. SDR 4K UHD clips come out OK.

Is it impossible to convert and retain HDR or am I missing something?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The input may have 10 bit color and the codec/profile/encoder you're using doesn't support this or you haven't enabled it. Pleas post mediainfo output for input and output files.

Here you go. How would I enable 10-bit in the converters? (not specific but a general idea. Can't find it..)

That info isn't there in that mediainfo mode, switch to text mode and post the text.

I have ruled something out. The SDR clips are also 10-bit so its not the bits. Its the color, right?

Think i figured it out. No converters support H265

HDR 4k content needs to be interpreted from bt.2020 to bt.709 using tone-mapping method. It has to be part of encoder if dealing with HDR. Or you do it before you load video into your encoder.
Encoder like Hybrid for Mac should be ready for this, you might try that. If it cannot make MOV container directly, you can get MP4 or MKV and then using some multiplexer to get MOV.
