Do you have the codecs installed?
Open the file with Graphstudio, make sure you get a graph and that the video plays

Wouldn't convertxtodvd or dvd fab have the codecs? They convert all other mp4s

I downloaded portable avstodvd but it said avisynth not installed. Where do i get the avisynth for the portable avstodvd?

    ISOM is an oddball codec

Do a Google on 'ISOM Codec' and you will find tons of posts of 'Can not play......'

But that same Google will point you to a Doom9 thread that suggests you install a splitter which could then solve your issue. I can certainly recall reading similar threads here as well. Just search for 'ISOM'

BTW Avisynth is the same whatever program you use

I do not use the portable version. Maybe that is limited in what encoders it installs.

There is a very large support thread about avstodvd. Maybe your Q. is answered there. Or you can always add to the thread.

Also I already had avisynth installed.

Also avstodvd does create a log. Lack of sound could be identified there.

I installed instead of using portable and converted my movie to dvd and have sound. Interesting a free program can do something convertxtodvd or dvdfab could not do.
    Thanks for the help

If you deny installation of required components, don't blame applications failing which rely on these (not) installed components.

I mean: There are powerful tools which can solve your problem, but they require a proper installation to function as desired. Don't blame them for a lack of features. Their features work if properly installed. You may criticize that you can't use them in a portable way ... but not that they "could not do" what you need. They can when they are installed properly.
