I tried to add these comments to the hardware page at
https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers/lg-bpm35/12728
but was unsuccessful.

I purchased this LG BPM35 ( Walmart branded LG BP350 ) to enable ongoing playback of my DiVX Plus HD content. This includes H.264, AAC, MP4 content in MKV containers, as well as older MPEG-4, H.263, Xvid, content in AVI containers.

ALL files that were previously playable on a DiVX Plus HD device ( Philips BDP2985/F7 ) play successfully on the LG BP350. The device is labeled "Xvid 1080p" which is an uncertain ( to me) standard.

There is one quirk. Some of my older AVI files encoded as MPEG-4 Visual H.263 were tagged as "Codec ID: DX50" with "Codec ID/Hint: DivX 5" as seen in Media info ( http://mediaarea.net/ )

I needed to change the Codec ID and Codec ID/Hint to "XVID" which made the files playable. This is often referred to as changing the "FourCC Description Code" and "FourCC Used Codec" and can be done using ( https://www.videohelp.com/tools/AVI-FourCC-Code-Changer ).

The unit plays VIDEO FORMATS WMV, VC-1, VC-9, MPEG-1, MPEG2 PS/TS, MPEG4 AVC (H.264), SMPTE, MKV, AVC, AVCHD, M4V, WMV, 3GP, MP4, MOV, FLV, VOB, TS, WMV3, and audio formats, Dolby, DTS, FLAC, AAC, WMA, MPEG 1/2 L2, MP3

I use a Western Digital 4 TB "My Book" partitioned into 2 x 2 TB NTFS partitions. The LG BPM35 sees both partitions and plays content from either partition. As with other Blu-ray players that can use external USB drives, Cinavia detection is not enabled for HDD content. A Cinavia protected file burned to DVD+R will be detected and prevented from playing from the disc. The same file plays OK from the external HDD.
