  1. Hi !
I am currently trying to play a 50 gbs .avi file on my pc, but when I play it, it tells me that the HYMT codec is missing. I installed the 64-bit huffyuv codec, but I could not play the files either. What else can I do?
I am using 64-bit Windows 10 and as an MPC player.

    Try this one,
At this page is where you get it and so on. Not know how safe is everything about it.

Edit: But you should be able to decompres it with ordinary Huffyuv. So probably wrong something different.

  3. A 32 bit player requires 32 bit codecs.

i'd guess the old no longer supported mpc player is a 32 bit player and can only use 32 bit codecs. try one of the mpc forks like mpc-hc 64 bit. https://www.videohelp.com/download/MPC-HC.1.8.3.x64.exe

Newer versions of huffyuv and huffyuvmt are not compatible.

I believe you are both right. The older huffyuv 2.1.1 doesn't recognize the HMYT fourcc. But if you change the fourcc to HFYU it will decode the video properly. At least that was true with a quick test video I made.

  7. Thank you all.
I work with the files on the page that bernix sent, but I can only play it in virtualdub at the moment.

    Thanks Bernix!

HYMT have special mode where it is not compatible with HFYU, it would decode only first slice with your approach above.

You're right. In my earlier test I neglected to enabled multithreading when I created the huffyuvmt video. If one enables mt changing the fourcc to hfyu no longer works properly.
