Check your tape players audio settings then you can check audio settings in Easy Setup. Verify they match.
my camcorder is a digital 8 pal dcr-trv110e pal by the way
my current setting in easy setup is pal dv-pal dv converter - thats the only setting which allows me to capture at all (other pal setting simply say waiting for timecode) unless i'm missing somethingphilippe
you need to go into the dcr-trv110e's menu settings (VTR / Camera button) and find Audio Mode and change it from default of 12 bit to 16 bit. You cannot select AUDIO MODE for tapes recorded in the Digital8 system. You, however, can select AUDIO MODE when you dub tapes recorded in the Hi8/standard 8 system to another VCR using the i.LINK cable.
here's the manual:
hi bar 72 i've gone for option 1 and it seems to have nailed it!!
that's really appreciated
nb - my capture setting is dv-pal dv converter (which is set for 48khz) does whether it's 32 or 48 matter then since i imagined that older tapes like video 8 this would have to be 32 but as i said - it seems to be capturing fine at 48khzphilippe
nice one! enjoy
