    The question is simply: can I play an NTSC-coded DVD on a European PC? AnyDVD used to be helpful but I don't know if it's still available.

    Have you looked in the software section of this site?

    NTSC is not a problem for European players or televisions....it's the Region Code that MIGHT be on the DVD that is your only obstacle.
    If you create a backup copy of the DVD with your computer, the resulting DVD copy will play in anything "European"....including the DVD player attached to your television.
    Making a backup copy of a DVD removes the Region Code.

    I don't think a backup is even necessary. To play it on the PC,
    Use VLC

    I was thinking that he THINKS he can only play it on a PC.
    NTSC is NOT a problem in PAL-Land.
    PAL IS a problem in NTSC-Land.
