    OK, here's the story.

I'm making SeVCD's (basically VCD specs, but using VBR MPEG-1 and lower audio bitrate instead). They all play nicely on mt Apex player, but if you use FF/RW, it will sometimes go out of synch (you can regain synch by pausing/unpausing a number of times, it's a pain but works).

OK, now, being as picky as I am, I want to fix this. All these are encoded at 23.976 frames/sec, and I'm told that movies encoded at 29.97 frames/sec will never go out of synch, ever...

What I don't understand is how to do this sucessfully in TMPGEnc. It makes sense when you make an SVCD and have "Forced FILM" source video, you apply the 3:2 pulldown to it and you're done.

But what do you do for VCD? It isn't supported! So, I somehow have to encode the correct way to make it 29.97?

Is it as simple at just picking a different framerate, or is there a "best" way to do it?

I apologize if this is a redundant, stupid question... it's just one that's new to me... Thanks!

  2. I use to have this problem but i started demuxing the mpg in tmpgenc and then remuxing in bbmpeg. make sure you have the lastest bbmpeg. After i started doing this i never had a out of sync problem when ff/rw.

What setting do you use for bbMPEG? Never works for me at all...

DO you use VBR MPEG-1 or VCD (and make it non-standard somehow?...)

    Thanks...
