I currently have a Skylake CPU and I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether quick sync has been improved over the last two generations (Kaby Lake and Coffee Lake)? If the quick sync has been improved, that would be a bonus, otherwise I'll stick to CPU encoding.
I want to build a new media server/NAS and am weighing some options.
How do the graphics on the latest AMD Ryzen chips compare to the Intel CPUs, aside from the quick sync encoding? Which CPU would be a better choice for streaming with something like Kodi?
If the graphics are better on the Intel chip, I'll go that route.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanx in advance.
