I bought a DVD movie few years ago. Back then I ripped the movie only to iso. Watched & deleted. Now, 5 diff computers do not 'see' it. One comp w/o any decrypter recognized it for a while, (1-2 minutes), then it was gone. Old Slysoft does not see it anymore, New 'Redfox' also does not see it. The DVD came from:

This disk happened to be a DVD-R, not a 'pressed' disk.
I have dvd-r disks I burned years before I bought this one which still 'work'.
Is this now designed into them??
Whats going on?

Yes, no, maybe, I don't know, Can you repeat the question?

I assume you have examined it physically. No spots or streaks or visible problems with it? Can you determine the brand?
Checked the media code? https://www.videohelp.com/dvdmediaform.php?dvdinfo=1#dvdinfo
I'm wondering if it's just a low quality disc and is now deteriorated. Some programs like ISOBuster may be able to recover something. -

What about try *not recommended (because intensive dvd drive usage) and result unsure* recurva. It can help probably if header is wrong. Or save some VOBs. But personaly I wouldn't do it, because of really big hazzard with dvd drive. Not mentioned DVD medium itself. Probably also recurva have mechanism to not work with cd/dvd/bluray.
According to lifewire it now support cd/dvd/bd but it not used to be.
If definitely wrong idea prove it and I will delete this to avoid feature usage.
