    Hello to all, first post.

I have an Avermedia 310 that I am using to rip stuff from my DVR before I cut the cord and give it back to the cable company.

I am saving shows to .MP4, and I want video editing software on my PC to chop commercials/clean up beginnings and endings of videos.

And that's all I want to do - other than maybe authoring to DVD. I want the EASIEST software to use. Any suggestions?

Payware, SolveigMM Video Splitter or VideoReDo TVSuite are a couple to try if you want to do frame accurate editing.
Highly compressed codecs like .MP4 can't be cut just anywhere without sync problems or picture breakup.

Freeware, maybe AVIDemux, but you would have to encode the whole video most times, resulting in quality loss.

DVD authoring, depends on how you want the video to look, menus, etc. Freeware, AVStoDVD is one.

But other members may have better suggestions.

    And welcome to our forums.

You can edit a lot of the metadata in Windows Explorer. Right click the file,
    properties/details
