so, i use pan/crop to position and set an image's size on the canvas.
but how do i now animate/rotate it using pan/crop, without the image not rotating on the image's center?

  2. Crop so that the center of the image is at the center of the frame, rotate, pan.

By the way, what software are you talking about?

oh, sorry, im using vegas pro.
i found a solution using track motion to move the image and scale
then pan/crop just for the rotation animation.
problem with crop/pan was that if the image wasn't at the center of the frame, the rotation would be screwed
i dont know if pan/crop should or can be used to both move and rotate, but the track motion helped with the issue
    cheers

In pan/crop, all you have to do is drag the center-of-rotation dot to wherever you want it. It is not locked to the center of the crop area.
