A friend placed a VCD that I had burned him into an Apex-660 model and he told me that the PBC On message comes up but the VCD does not play.
I do not have that model but it worked fine on my Geneca model.
Any ideas ? Was it the burning or the player ? I did check the compatbility list and it is compatible with VCDs. Oh and I used the 640 TDK from Best Buy
Thanks for the help in advance
Paolo

The DVD player can play VCD BUT .........IT CAN NOT PLAY CDRs....
That is your problem. The DVD players have to be able to read CD-rs. A lot of DVD player do not have this ability so It can not read the VCDs you are making.
You can get a DVD player that reads CDRs for around $100 and above.

The Apex-660 will play CD-R's just fine, but will not play many CD-RW's. Most likely the mpeg file you put on the disk is not fully VCD compliant. The Apex will not play XVCD's unless you remux the mpeg file in Tmpeg with a new VCD system info header. So, run the file through the simple remux, and then burn the file to a CD-R. It should play just fine in the Apex.
