Absolutly, but it forces you to do one more step (MkvToolnix + Box4) in the MKV to MP4 conversion

  3. When is this going to end? You've been asking me the same question on and off, both publicly and in 'private messages' since before last Summer.

I thought you ask for feedback to improve this software. I won't ask you again, won't bug you anymore Sorry

    Have a nice day.

  6. I wanted to add a little suggestion about the feature I asked and the author gently included (forced sub auto selection). I think a better and clearer way to achieve this goal would be adding a selection option "Forced" here:

    Totally agree.

If @video.baba decides to implement this "forced subtitles auto selection", taking advantage of the occasion,
hopefully add the warning signal once task list's finished.

Anyway after having tested for two days, it works great and it's really fast.

    Thanks again.

  8. Why is only one core being maxed out while the rest are barely being used during encoding?
I assume this is a FFMPEG limitation?

Every day I enter the Forum to see if the software has been updated (Last Version 3, February 15, 2019),
with the warning sign once the list of tasks is finished and other requests / recommendations from other users,
but it seems that this is all, so it will stay the final version, which will not be updated. Too bad, with a little bit more it would be 10/10.
    Although it's still wonderful, in my opinion a 9.5 / 10.

So, I have no choice but to thank video.baba for his magnificent work.

  10. Yeh sorry. Just busy at work. I have updated it, I added Av1 support and also added the "warning' sound back in, I just need to spend an hour checking it before I release it. I promise there will be an updated minor version out soon.

    Thank you.

PD. Please, don't forget to also update the Portable Version

  13. Show MediaInfo ("View"->"Text") of said file.

Does this only happen with files created by e.g. a new MakeMKV version or also older files?

  14. I just tested a .MOV file and it loaded fine (homemade movie). Also tested some mp4 files I had converted with handbrake and those seemed to load.

Are all the affected files using MPEG2 video?

BOX4 is intended for the following formats:

  16. Seems so from the ones I looked at. Should I be converting it to something else?

Do you know of different settings in makemkv that should be used?

  17. Your sources are DVD, right? There is no setting in MakeMKV but to copy the source video 1:1 and DVDs use MPEG2. The same is true for BOX4.

What do you want to achieve by using BOX4? Make files compatible with a player that doesn't support MPEG2? Then BOX4 isn't the right tool for you.

  18. Guess I got the wrong tool. I thought it was used similarly to handbrake. Thanks for the help!

Sorry but... ¿When the minor update?

  20. @Video.baba: When will you be able to update this program?
Warn because I'm tired of entering every day and see that it has not been updated.

    Thanks.

Is there a one sentence summary as to the purpose of "Box4"?

  22. To quickly&simply convert files incompatible with your player (typically mkv container or dts audio) to mp4 or mkv with ac3/mp3/aac audio with optional normalizing. Video isn't touched so it's fast and lossless.

So it's similar to softwares like MkvToMp4 or PopCorn MKV AudioConverter. But mainly it's more integrated with just a single .exe file, not many components.

Unfortunately, a long time. With all due respect, I didn't make the program for you. I made it for me and my daughter, well, my daughter's movies. I told you over a year ago, you're too pushy (including via private messages). This is just a little 'spare-time' project for me. I suggest you find an equivalent tool, a paid tool, for which you can demand support. I will never work on BOX4 again.

  25. I did not want to bother you with my comment, it was just curiosity, for what you said:

@Video.baba: Then I can forget about the minor update of the warning sound back once the task List is finished.

Anyway, I take this opportunity to thank you for your great work.
