    XLogicX,

Yes, way faster...your system specs aren't that much different than mine.

Go to the tools section and find DVD2AVI. It rumages through your rip and creates a project (*.dv2, I think) and a *.wav file which makes TMPGenc think its an avi file that its dealing with. (Check HOW TO->DVD RIP, first option)

From there, you can create (s)(x)VCD using whatever template or settings work for you. I use the default NTSC VCD Film template (what most of my DVDs are) and check off 'Simple Color Correction', and 'Sharpen Edge' using 'Highest Quality (slowest). I'll usually use the project wizard to split my movie to two CDs with a 5 second or short scene overlap.

What I get at VCD is as good as the best retail VCD I've purchased and much better than most of them. I actually gave up on DVDx and having to use xVCD (1500+ bitrate) to get the same results

Now my VCDs work on the DVD player, my laptop CDROM, my playstation, blah, blah, because they're all standard VCD. My family and friends can't tell the difference between DVD and these VCDs. I can tell, of course, but you get the idea.

    - Smartripper Rip, 10-15 mins
    - DVD2AVI, 5-10 mins
    - TMPGenc (highest quality), 2-3 hrs
