I need help with this video; https://www.britishpathe.com/video/VLVA1P7906FU2RYT6YW47WTEHLK0W-SYRIA-SYRIA-AND-IRAQ-...q+syria+travel
It seems possible to download it, I've tried everything from extensions to different softwares... Seems impossible, I got a streaming link though, but even that doesn't work when i put it into any streaming or video downloading programme: http://streaming.britishpathe.com/hds-vod/MEDIA-5/archive/W0KL/2015-12-07T154149Z_1_LV...IGNING.MP4.f4m
I've tried extensions such as flash video downloader, Adobe HDS / HLS video saver, Stream Video Downloader, Video Downloader Professional, Wondershare, AllavSoft and so many other extensions and softwares.
I'm using a mac by the way and I'm loosing my mind over how hard this is !?1
Can anyone help?

I'm on Win7 Pro SP1 and i used FF (sorry not mac) but its quite simple to download.
I F12'ed and refreshed the page for the network traffic and typed f4m in "Filter urls" and F5'd again while video is playing. This manifests 6 Requests from your browser and one of them is a GET under Network/Domains - streaming.british.pathe RED arrow.
Click on this and get the REQ Url from the far right of the page; RED arrow again - it 'calls' an url of

Footnote: Media Info Lite reports the downloaded mp4 is mis-named and is a swf video. And note the black-arrowed swf player too in the Network traffic. (2). This seems to buffer the little file very well for playback whereas I found when I played it back in 'conventional' media players it locked up here n there. (I DL it a few times over to make sure I hadnt got a dodgy DL).
If you cant translate this procedure into Mac-speak (and I certainly cant!) then here's the file anyway.

Hi Codehound, you're an absolute legend!
The problem though, is that the downloaded file seems damaged compared to the original one posted on the website. The clip repeats itself at times and some of it is out of sync with both sound and picture at some areas of the video.
But nice try though! You've gotten me the furthest so far.
Download it and see for yourself then, friend. Read Footnote in Post #2 please.
Its the sfw video player that is smoothing the video out my friend....notice the buffer in the timeline whilst playing.
Best playback I got was from WMP which just paused twice during playback. Both Mplayerc and VLC had buffering issues.

It needs a premium subscription, it was working fine, but of course it's for money, any other help?
I used Firefox on Win7 with a user agent switcher (iPhone, Safari). Right click on the video and select Copy Link Location. You can also get this link from "The Stream Detector" plugin for Firefox without using a user agent switcher. Then use StreamLink to download via that link:
streamlink -o "output.ts" "https://streaming.britishpathe.com/hls-vod/MEDIA-5/archive/W0KL/2015-12-07T154149Z_1_LVA1P7906FU2RYT6YW47WTEHLK0W_RTRWNEV_F_SYRIA-SYRIA-AND-IRAQ-RELAX-TRAVEL-RESTRICTIONS-FOLLOWING-SIGNING.MP4.m3u8" best
