    Hi,

I use Virtual dub to remove a logo in a video. I read that it doesn't support MP4 video files so I converted it to an MPEG file.
However, when I want to open the video, it seems to upload it but my screen remains black (normally, I should get a grey screen in 2 parts).
When I preview the input, I find my video but I cannot edit it.
Can someone tell me what I do wrong?

    Thanks a lot!

    Best regards,

  2. VirtualDub can load MP4 files with the correct source filter. But use the more modern VirtualDub2 instead. It has built in source filters for MP4.

  4. Try this: in either program select Options -> Preferences -> Display... disable "Use DirectX for display panes", press Save. Exit the dialog and the program and restart it. Fixed?

  6. What does MediaInfo say about your source video?

  8. Does the mp4 display correctly in other programs , video players ? e.g. mpchc, vlc ? or maybe it's corrupted ?

Yes, it plays well in Windows media player (and also in Virtual dub2 when I choose preview input) so I guess it's not corrupted.

  10. That MediaInfo screen shot is barely legible. A copy/paste of text view would have been better. But I don't see anything obvious that would cause a problem in VirtualDub. Be sure View -> Input Video Pane and View -> Output Video Pane are enabled.
