    Roland V 60 HD and RS 232

    Hey,
We have a Roland V 60 HD mixer and want to use the remote software to connect a RS232 connection on the mixer to a laptop that has no RS232 port, now the question... with a gradient from USB to RS 232 to use all possibilities or give this problems...

    thank you in advance

I don't know that particular device but I've used USB/RS232 adapters to communicate with other serial devices. This is transparent to software running on the PC so it should work. The adapters aren't expensive so you might as well try it.

I noticed the Roland V60HD has an ethernet port for control. Can't you use that?

I have a USB to RS232 converter and it has worked just fine for a number of old pieces of serial port hardware.
