    2.50.0.31 02/02/09

  3. Hello. Sorry for the delay and thanks for replying. I'm not sure what the original driver number was, I'm just wanting to try different things. My problem is that I can't get any local digital OTA channels on any software. The scan always comes up with 0 channels. I can scan and get 38 channels with just my TV, but I want to be able to record and have a guide. I've tried several different versions of AverTV 3D, Avermedia Center 3D, NextPVR, Media Portal and others, but it's all the same....ends up with no channels. I even reformatted Windows 10 and tried.....same result. The weird thing is, the first time I ever tried to scan for channels, I got all 38 of them. Then, like an idiot, I tried different software, thinking I would just always be able to get the channels to scan, but I've never been able to since. I can, however, record my analog signal coming from a VCR, which is cool, because I have a bunch of old VCR and 8mm camcorder tapes that I want to digitize.

Before installing their Media Center Software, make sure to delete Avermedia folder(s) from
    \documents and settings\application data\ and/or \documents and settings\local settings\ application data (XP)
    \program data\ - Windows 7 and newer
Make sure the antenna is connected to the correct socket at the back of the card, thirdly try the version from my second link above

  5. I not only deleted every Avermedia folder on my hard drive, I also went into the registry and deleted every Avermedia instance I found......which took forever....lol. Antenna is connected to the correct spot on the card. Analog works just fine, but still can't get any channels even with the 2 links you provided. I'm currently installing Windows 7 on another hard drive, so In about an hour or so I'll try my luck with it. Do I need any special codecs or filters or anything to get ATSC? I thought the card had the stuff integrated in it, but just figured I'd ask. Also, I can't find any old driver versions anywhere for this card. I just use what installs automatically, but I'd like to have one or 2 others to try. Thanks again for the help!

Hi, I don't know if it will work with ATSC because here in Europe I got my AverMedia works well with SmartDVB. Once the drivers are setup, I selected the BDA driver from list and I scanned channels by default all frequencies and Bandwidth unlike by town or by country. Filters I use AC3Filter and MS DirectShow DTV Video Decoder. Good luck.

  7. Titigrom, when you download the AC3 filter, do you just run the installer and that's it? Or do you have to put files in a certain folder or anything to be able to use it in SmartDVB? Same goes with the MS DirectShow DTV Video Decoder. I've ventured into those configuration settings for filters and I get lost....lol. Also, I noticed you mentioned that you scanned "all frequencies". That option is NEVER available to me in any Avermedia software. The instructions say to scan all frequencies if you don't find any channels with the regular scan, but the option isn't there. Everything on the page looks exactly the same, except for no option to scan all frequencies. I'm gonna try SmartDVB, because Windows 7 didn't make a difference. Thanks for the info!

  8. Titigrom so I tried SmartDVB and I can't get past the first screen. When I pick the Florian BDA DVB device and my tuner, it says "cannot start device". Doesn't matter if I pick the second one, it says the same thing.....I think my AverMedia m780 card is about to meet my friend Percy........the 10lb sledge hammer!!....lol.

Have you looked in the device manager to see if there is any problems? What version of the driver do you
    have installed?

  10. No problems in device manager in Win 7 or 10. The drivers install automatically and the version is 2.5.64.32 from 6/11/09. I've tried 4 different versions of SmartDVB and the ATSC tuner won't start in any of them. The DVB part of the tuner works in all of them and of course I don't need that. Very frustrating.

That seems to be the driver for the 64 bit OS, I don't know of any earlier versions. I was running this card on
XP about 10 years ago with the 32 bit drivers. Perhaps your card is damaged.
Do you not have an old XP box you can test it with ?

  12. Windows Update Database has drivers for Windows XP through Windows 10 for the M780 and I've tried all the Win 10 64-bit versions on this computer and the Win 7 versions on my Windows 7 platform. No difference. I don't have Win Xp installed on anything, but I know people have had this card running great on Windows 10, problem is, I'm not them....lol. I think the card might be damaged like you said, because I'm not getting any sound on the Analog side from my VCR or my 8mm camcorder. Just static. I just have that thought in the back of my head that it's something simple like a program I don't have installed or something. Some version of Visual C++ or ISS or something. I just HATE giving up....lol.
