The DVD drive in this model is a TS-P632F/SDAH and seems to be unobtainable / obsolete. As it seems videos on the HDD can only be copied off via DVD I’m stuffed unless one of you guys know where I can get one.
Alternatively know of other machines that use the same DVD Drive that I could use.
Many thanks
John.

There are a handful of these type of recorders, that you can remove the HDD and hook it up to a computer to copy the recordings.
It's highly doubtful that this Samsung unit does not use proprietary software to "encrypt" the recordings....but if the HDD looks like
a normal HDD....you may want to give that a try.
I own a Medion/LG recorder that I occasionally use this way. It does require special software but the software is tiny and trouble free. -
Many thanks hech54 but tried that. One of the folders called Clips has all the Videos but they can't be copied or opened despite using all the know unlocking apps. It seems the only way to transfer the videos to my pc is either a replacement DVD unit, fitting the HDD in a compatable system or with a loss of res via a video graber hooked from the HDMI out to USB in on my PC - unless anyone can thing of another way. PS. What is that software you used?

These are the three LG/Medion HDD reader softwares that were available for the recorders of yesteryear.
