  1. Hey guys,
I do lecture capture at a university and frequently after the lecture there is a brief q&a between the lecturer and the audience. I don't have the option to use a mic runner and the lectures occur in several different rooms so prepping the room for sound isn't an option either.

Currently, I mount a shotgun mic at the front of the room facing the audience and ramp it up in post.

Does anyone have any suggestions of a microphone array/placement to capture cleaner sound?

    Thanks.

Is the shotgun stationary? If so, you will get better sound pointing it at each querent.

  3. It is. Traditionally I am positioned at the back of the room so I can focus on the lecturer/presentation and I have the shotgun elevated and pointed down towards the audience.
