Hi Everyone,
I wonder if you can help me. I have an MKV file, which when played on my TV is showing many small lines across the video. It seems that the video needs to be deinterlaced.
Can anybody recommend some good free software that can do this job in a fast effective way? Encoding the video with Handbrake might be an option, but it will take a long time.
Thanks in advance.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Best if you can provide a 10 - 20 second sample showing the problem

Thanks. Have just found out that the video is a simple remultiplex and no audio or video transcoding has been performed. Assume this is the problem.
What would you suggest I do ?
Thanks. -

No, because the best software will be invented next year, or the year after...
But recoding, similar to Handbrake, would be necessary. No conversion including really good deinterlacing would be faster than a conversion without any.
And if you are really unlucky, then your video has been scaled vertically already, means, the "small lines" you see are already a sign for irreparable destruction. Thus, to be certain about it, we would have to inspect it.
