Hi,
I want to use VSDC for removing some video footage (cutting) from files. E.g. MKV or MP4 etc. I have been trying to match the input but what happens is that VSDC resamples (apologies if it is the incorrect term) the video.
So, there are two issues:
A. It takes forever
B. File size of say an 800MB file becomes 2GB.
How can I simply use VSDC or any other open source editor to do that? Thanks.

A) Use faster encoder settings.
B) Set a lower bitrate.

Oh, I see, you mean it's re-encoding. And you don't want to re-encode. I don't know if VSDC is capable of cutting without re-encoding. You can use AviDemux for simple cut editing -- but you can only cut on keyframes. VideoRedo support smart editing of MPEG 2 and h.264/AVC. That allows cutting on any frame and only cut GOPs will be re-encoded.
