I would like recommendations as to which video editing program I should buy for the following use
I usually shoot short videos and need to join them with intervening transitions sometimes requiring to snip off a few faulty lengths
(titling would be a bonus)
I use a laptop that does not have a dedicated graphic card (if this is a criterion)
Than you videohelp
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

TMPGenc Smart Renderer.
The other good one is VideoRedo, but I don't believe it does transitions. Someone will correct me if I'm mistaken. -
MPEG Video Wizard DVD 5.0 works well and has titling.
Often you can find it free or at a steep discount on many deal a day websites.
