So, i want to make my first BRRip. I'm using VirtualDubMOD as the encoder. With audio i have no problem at all. But it gets all stuck on the video part (Bitrate & Filesize). I set my bitrate to 2900 so the file size is around 1.7GB. And i use 2-pass encoding. When encoding is done i always get filesize around 700-900MB, and bitrate around 1500kbps lower then it should be. So i really don't get it. What's causing the issue?

Info about video i'm trying to endcode:

Hard to say since you didn't give any particulars about your settings, other than "2900". Maybe you are using that number for Max instead of Average. Maybe you need to specify it during both passes (not sure as I never use vdubmod anymore, since mid 2000s).

    More info needed...

  3. Did you manually run both the first and second passes? VirtualDub doesn't automatically run both passes.

Is this a very clean (little noise) animation? It may simply be that the encoder can't give as high a bitrate as you asked for with the specified settings. Check the min quantizer settings. Make them lower.

Buy the actual Blu-Ray instead of illegal downloads.
