  1. I have been using this camera to shoot sporting events for 8+ years, and love the camera. Does a great job of quality video (1080/60p) and the 160GB drive stores so many games I rarely have to worry about running out of space. It also uses SD Cards to augment the HD.

The only issue I have is that it has a shock sensor for the HD so if using it on a mount for water sports, the shock from rough water can shut it down. It does support SD cards but the HD is still spinning when the SD card is in use so this does not solve the problem of the camera shutting down.

As such, I am looking for a used replacement for this camera that only uses solid state memory (SD Card, etc) but creates the same quality video at 60p (.MTS files). Any suggestions? Sony seems to have so many to choose from, it is easy to get confused. Maybe their naming convention would help, if I understood it.

  2. Seriously, almost everything in the current Sony line is an upgrade. It comes down to your budget.
