  1. some of my mkv files do not have thumbnails. I understand this is because of lack of codecs. Where can one get trusted codecs, some can have malware. i use vlc on win 7 64 bit and vlc on win 7 32 bit

    If just not seeing MKV thumbnails in Windows Explorer is the problem, you might look at Icaros .

    VLC has it's own codecs and doesn't need external ones.

  3. I let media preview scan the disk and generate thumbnails for all so they all have thumbnail now..Thanks

  4. I've never cared about this stuff before, but after installing ffshow some mkv icons appeared.
