I have previously used a 1080 50i HD camera, edited in AP and output to mpeg2 (interlaced) for DVD without any problems.
I got some 50p footage recently which I wanted to make a dvd out of. I edited on a 1080 50p timeline in AP and output in mpeg2 (50i interlaced) for DVD. However, the resultant mpeg footage has chronic aliasing/moire.
I did understand that converting 50p to 50i mpeg2 would have some penalties but I did not the picture would be so bad. Could it be that I am doing something wrong or aliasing is here to stay?
