I hope this is the right place to post, (I didn’t see a “general hardware” section). If not, please direct me. I’ve looked to see where this may have been covered, but didn’t find what I was looking for.

I’m looking for equipment recommendations for a wireless mic system, videocam, and amplifier, or otherwise so I can videotape a small conference. The conference will have a primary speaker and an (interactive) audience of around 20-25. I’m on a budget of $400-500 for equipment (I don’t see this being repeated very often, renting the equip. is a possibility).

I want something that will pick up at least the speaker’s lapel mic and one, (preferably two), mics in the audience. I assume I’ll also need a small amplifier, if the mic “system” doesn’t come with some type of speakers. The room size is small, 20’x30’ or so (a conference room in a motel).

I’m used to using a laptop and doing personal videos. I use (on a novice/familiar level) NCH software like Videopad, Debut and WavePad, etc. so that is what I’d like to use for editing.

For some examples, I’ve looked at the following items I found at Amazon, but it doesn’t seem like these will all hook up to one system. I’m not sure what connections to look for, like ¼” or 1/8” mic jacks, stuff like that I’m a total newbie at and would like to assistance. I’m handy enough, just looking for advice from people who are already doing something like this and know what works.

Some items that look promising but I’m not sure how to connect together
