I searched the forums and couldn't find any solid information about how to get subtitles onto a movie if they were in .txt format (or anything besides .ssa)
This program allows you to convert subtitles from one format to another. I used it to convert a .txt file over to a .ssa file to I could use Virtualdub to add the subtitles.
Make sure to set the proper frameframe when doing a conversion or certain conversions will be incorrect and the subtitles will show up in the wrong place.

Thanks for the heads up.
If you do more searches on the net or look in
www.divx-digest.com You ll find more converters, mostly from one format to another. I use 4-5 different ones depending on which format the subtitles came in. SRT and TXT are easy to convert for instance, but SMI (Microsoft format) subtitles are not.
Cheers
