  1. I searched the forums and couldn't find any solid information about how to get subtitles onto a movie if they were in .txt format (or anything besides .ssa)

    This program allows you to convert subtitles from one format to another. I used it to convert a .txt file over to a .ssa file to I could use Virtualdub to add the subtitles.

    Make sure to set the proper frameframe when doing a conversion or certain conversions will be incorrect and the subtitles will show up in the wrong place.

    If you do more searches on the net or look in
    www.divx-digest.com You ll find more converters, mostly from one format to another. I use 4-5 different ones depending on which format the subtitles came in. SRT and TXT are easy to convert for instance, but SMI (Microsoft format) subtitles are not.
