Youtube-dl HTTP Error 403: Forbidden

Hi People!
For days I have been trying to download a video from an online course in where I'm enrolled.
I tried in all ways to use my credentials (password, login, registration) to download the video, but it fails all the time. I confess that I am kind of noob but I'm trying to read some similar issues...
What I find strangest is being able to see the available formats for download, but not be abble to download it. I can't provide all the comand because there are my credentials, but look:

Please can anyone tell me a tip or some way to solve this problem?

It seems that the program is not passing the log in details.

You could try another program such as this one which is a front-end for youtube-dl which also has inputs for log in details.

Or, if that fails, you could try a commercial stream recorder such as Jaksta.

Failing all that you can always record the screen as the video plays.

For both programs, TVDownloader and Jaksta, appears the same error ERROR: Unable to download webpage: HTTP Error 403: Forbidden (caused by HTTPError());


I know I can record the screen, but as it is a large course, it is much faster to download by youtube-dl list as I did earlier, I do not understand this error.

Can you help me? How can i pass a log in details?

I do not use the program. Twas just a suggestion.

I do use Jaksta and, of course, you would need to be logged in and have the video playing. Not by entering the url in the box.

Even so, I have seen some streams that can not be downloaded hence the fall-back of screen-recording.

From the youtube-dl documentation:

Authentication Options:
-u, --username USERNAME Login with this account ID
-p, --password PASSWORD Account password. If this option is left

Well I believe the issue here is that the id/passwd is for the original website not the server that hosts the videos. That is what these links are referring to.

I guess the website then sends an authorising token to the server to access the content. Since direct access for download is from a different IP to that of the website one gets the 403 - Access Denied

What is the url for the original website ?. No harm in disclosing that since the videos will still not be accessable but they could dowload with the proper credentials through a stream recorder such as Jaksta but only from the original website.

Well if you really are restricted to two attendances then I strongly suggest you do a screen capture immediately else you will be blocked from further viewing.

And, yes, I guess they changed their security policy due to multiple accesses from shared info.

Edit: Just done a quick conversion of 4000 real to UK£. That's almost £800. At that cost they really should give you more than two views.
