Batch convert animated GIFs to video? (Any format: AVI, MP4, etc.)

I have a bunch of animated GIFs I'd like to convert to one of the standard video file formats. Trying to avoid doing them one-at-a-time.

Hopefully there's an open-source option?

ffmpeg in a batch file. Something like:

for %%F in ("*.gif") do ffmpeg -i %%~nxF %%~nF.mkv

Will convert all the gif files in the folder in which the bat file resides.

Of course, that's the barest of conversions. You'll probably want to specify the codec and parameters used. And maybe a different container.
