VHS to DVD using Honestech 3.0 device

Hi, I have been trying to capture my old VHS tapes to DVD using the above subject device, & while I can capture the VHS tape the quality of the picture is not coloured but black & white with Green & Purple horizontal lines across the picture, sound quality is OK.
Any ideas how I can rectify this problem ? I have cleaned head of VCR.
