  1. I just bought my very first flat screen TV just a few weeks ago, and then I started having problems. I use it to watch TV with an antenna, but suddenly I couldn't get reception on any channel. Everything was fine with my antenna, and adjusting it didn't help. Then I did a rescan, and no channels were found. I concluded that something was wrong with the tuner, and so I connected my old digital converter box from my old TV, and then I was able to watch TV again, although in LOW definition. I arranged to have the TV shipped back to Amazon for being defective. But just before boxing it up, I decided to do a Factory Reset first. Then I thought I'd try doing another rescan just in case a Reset is what was needed. It worked! Now the TV works again. However.....

I only have about a week left before I can return it to Amazon, and I'm concerned that doing a factory reset on the TV to fix the problem is only a temporary solution. Is it normal to have to reset the TV after only a couple weeks? Is the problem with my tuner or the software that controls it going to keep coming back? Is this a common occurrence, or is what I've experienced a sign of a bigger problem that tends to get worse later on? I'm just asking because I feel like keeping the TV since it's working now, but am afraid that this initial problem will be something I'll be dealing with more in the coming months and years. I'd sure hate to have to reset the TV every few weeks. It would be no fun to have to keep readjusting all the settings and rescanning the channels all the time.

For the record, the TV is a 43" TCL 43S405.

Does the TV have an Internet connection? Maybe the manufacturer did a on-line reset or a firmware upgrade. If not, I would send it back to Amazon.
This is assuming Amazon doesn't have you pay for shipping, which could be huge.$$

Nope! No internet connection. It's a Roku TV, but has an internal tuner. I just use it with an antenna. I've never done any firmware upgrades, although they can be done if I download the update to a flash drive and then plug that into the TV. I've been told that probably wouldn't do much good for me since my TV shows are coming from an antenna instead of apps connected to the internet.

Also, Amazon wouldn't charge for shipping. They gave me a shipping label to print out. Now I have one week to use it, or decide to keep the TV. Not sure which way to go.
