Ok I was in a rush and didn't realize that in virual dub i forgot to change the audio conversion from 48000hz to 44100hz(I left it in no change),and now my movie is half done in tmpgenc. What's going to be the outcome, I need a quick answer

I'd probably keep encoding, and when it's done, take the original avi (or vobs if you are frameserving out of dvd2avi) file and (in virtual dub or whatever you have to strip the wav out of it) save the audio as a wav file (audio - full processing - change rate to 44100khz -uncompressed PCM if it's vdub).
Convert the wave into a 44100khz mp2 (that's mpeg-1 layer 2, not mpeg-2) with tmpgenc - audio only - (check that option) at 224kb/sec or whatever you need.
Demux your converted mpeg movie and remux it with the 44100khz mp2 audio. Hopefully it'll all synch up!As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
Ok but if when finished in tmpgenc in about an hour Can I just burn it like that? What will happen when I play it in my dvd player? Is the audio going to be out of sync?If so, I'll try what you said-but that sounds like starting all over?just

Even if it is out of sync slighty, you'll have the video encoding done already and that's what takes all the time. You'll only encode the wav (not the video) to an .mp2 and that won't take long at all. Just load the wav and check the "audio only" button in tmpgenc so it doesn't do the video again, or frameserve it to tmpgenc again (also "audio only"), then encode it.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
If it is out of sync a litle, you can demux the movie, "time stretch" (stretch or squish) the wav file with a good audio editor to match the time of the video if it is a gradually increasing loss of sync, or add silence to the either end if it is a uniform sync error, then mux them again till it looks synched. (it may take a little trial and error, but won't degrade the video, just kill a little time till it lines up correctly).
If you are lucky, it'll be good to go right away...As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
MIRROR IMAGE, I left the converting finish and then for kicks I burnt it onto a cd-rw and it actually worked fine. So I didn't have to do all the work you said. I do appreciate your quick responses to my problem. I am however confused to why it worked flawlessly. I'm wondering if maybe it somehow got fixed when converting in tmpgenc, it did say at the bottom of the screen that it was 44100hz. Got me I am happy it worked. Hey if anyone knows why it worked I wouldn't mind finding out. THANKS AGAIN MIRROR IMAGE. Your Friend VCD4ME
