  1. Well, right click in Vivaldi on links in the F12 network tab does not give me a Copy option but I can use a network sniffer and wait just for the first link so all other ones including the master.mpd will look the same probably

The RTP channel seems to play some of their videos as mpd, other ones as ts with a m3u8 file (easier for downloading in JDownloader for example) so it is good to have several options to get them

There is an addon for Firefox called Stream Detector which seems to be able to show the mpd or m3u8 links directly without the need for looking into the source code or the developer tools, maybe not bad sometimes

Another stupid question: how do I copy the often very long links found by F12 for master.mpd for example ? Right-click gives me "Reveal" only and I cannot find another option for this (Vivaldi here but will be the same as in Chrome very probably)
I have the same issue with another RTP Play video (os últimos dias da pide), but I just can't find that .mpd file in network debugging, only tons of m4s files. Is it necessary to playback the entirety of the video? How did you find the mpd file?

Can the same be done with this one as well?

EDIT: The Stream Detector did the trick on RTP Play, but not on OPTO's content. The resulting OPTP's -mpd file returns the "no video found" error while using youtube-dl.

for OPTO'S content, try searching for MP4 and see if that turns up anything

    Hello,

Here's what Video DownloadHelper in Firefox shows when I'm trying to download a video that's likely DRM-protected:

Obviously, youtube-dl doesn't work, and no "manifest" shows up when using the Developer mode.

Is there a way to join all those MP4 chunks into a single file, either within the browser or by reading temp files somewhere on the disk?

    Thank you.

I have access, I'm paying the monthly subscription. Do you wish me to PM you my personal access data?

I found a few small MP4 files and, although downloadable, they're unplayable. :/

If I don't give you access, then how are you going to get it?

I agree to provide you the access via PM. Is that OK?

EDIT: I did notice using network debugging that there are many m4s fragments available. Should I bring all m4s files together by creating a HAR archive, or should I bring all files available together? My problem is that I don't know how to concatenate them all together. Isn't there any other way?

Your RTP problem solved apparently and thanks for the hint to the PIDE doc No problem to get the mpd and downloading it with Youtube-dl but no audio in the file here which seems quite rare at RTP or with Youtube-dl, same thing on your side ? Recommended or easiest way to merge mp4 and m4a anyone ?

I also had to merge the resulting MP4 and M4A. I use MKVToolnix which includes mkvmerge, the go-to software to mix several different streams into a MKV file.

I guess there's currently no workaround that, is there?....

Have there been no developments regarding countering DRM protection in recent years?

A successful way of merging init file and m4s segments on Windows for me was using the command prompt and the 'type' command
    Code:
    type init.mp4 1.m4s 2.m4s > video.mp4

I'd be willing to give it a try if it weren't for my inability to extract the content of the HAR file. How can I do so offline?

  17. Hey guys,

is there a way to download videos from https://www.toggolino.de?
    E.g. https://www.toggolino.de/paw-patrol/paw-patrol-mighty-pups-die-superhunde

Seems to be segmented and DRM protected so what can I do? I couldn't find any working url with the firefox dev tools.

    Thanks

Find the mpd with f12 network
You need to use a modified version of youtube-dl that avoids DRM to download the audio and video.
You also need to use the Widevine decryptor to get the keys.
Then you need to use mp4decrypt to decrypt the audio and video.

  21. The last answer sounds interesting but a little bit complicated too, maybe I will look for these things.

One more question for the experts: does this not work because of protection, maybe ?

    https://www.rtp.pt/play/p8622/edicao-especial-um-dia-num-ano-de-pandemia

Easy to find the mpd but Youtube-DL or 2 different GUI of it cannot get it, I am a little bit surprised that the same channels or tv stations offer things in several different formats and some protected and some not etc., no problem to get other things from RTP for example

    https://streaming-vod.rtp.pt/dash/nas2.share/h264/512x384/p8622/p8622_1_20210316000000...4/manifest.mpd

  23. I will try these terrible and often very long command line things but why do GUI like Youtube-dlg or YDL-UI fail and only show errors by entering just the manifest.mpd link beginning with https://streaming-vod.rtp.pt/... ?

Because the GUI can't figure some stuff out.

  26. I just wanted to add that I'm having similar problems with opto.sic.it. I can get the MPD link and download the encrypted file but cannnot track the Widevine DRM key unfortunately /I have the tools to get it/. The problem is in the Shaka player they're using. No solution so far.
