What format is the video? That makes a great difference for the suggested methods of covering the subs.
You can use MediaInfo and give us the 'text' output that describes the video.
One way to cover a sub: Create a black bar in Windows Paint in .png format large enough to cover your sub.
Then open the video in VirtualDub2 and select the 'logo' filter. Select the saved black bar. Position as desired and save
a copy of the whole video in the preferred format. You will have to re-encode it so there will be some quality loss.
You should have a new video with covered subs.
This is just one way to do it. With better tools, probably some better methods.
And welcome to our forums.
It might look like this in VD2. The right side is a preview of the black bar on the video: -
Good you got started. I had to check if the Logo was part of VD2 or if I had added it.
The Logo filter is easy enough to use. Of the nine boxes shown, use the bottom middle one,
then with the x and y offsets to the right you can move it around a bit. For a simple
black bar, you shouldn't need the other Logo settings. 'Show preview' there will show it on
your video.
Then You can use the VD2 'Preview Flitered' in the File column to see
how it looks through the whole video. If OK, save the video.
It might take some experimentation to get the right size Logo to cover all the subs.
