  1. Hi everybody.
    I need some quick answers.
1)Ripped a DVD .....ok (smart ripper)
    2)Encoded from Mpeg2 (DVD format) to Mpeg4 Using FlaskMpeg(Divx Avi)....ok

1st Problem . Bad AV synch after 10' no AV sync at all..!
2nd Problem . Output AVI file about 700MB (good so far) but using TMPENG encoder to make a compatible VCD file (MPEG1)gives me about a 1.2Gb .mpg file.
I WANT TO PUT MY MOVIE IN A SINGLE CD
    Please Please help...

VCD is limited to 74 video min/cd. To fit more minutes you can try some xvcd formats(lower the bitrate). Read the tmpgenc xvcd guides...

divx(mpeg4) will fit on one cd if you encode it properly.

mpeg2 will not fit on one cd.

    sorry bud

  4. you can try the LVCD template.
Just did a two hour movie , dvd ripped, onto 1 cd,
quality was pretty good,NOT great like sefy's template but it was fine for the audio (which was fair)and video to hit the 736 mb , fine for an 80 min cd..

  5. Depends on how long your movies are!!!
But if you'd like to go with SVCD or MPEG2 I can tell that it's impossible to fit a whole movie in one single CD.
Try using VCD especially Sefy's template (SEVCD). U can find this template in Tool section on the left. Then try to lower "Bitrate" and "Sound Quality" to fit your needs.

  9. mack daddy,
    here ya go bro.
give it a try and see what u come up with. It wont be high end svcd mpg2 quality but in my test encodez its been roughly about the same quality as an LP or ELP vhs, but its great when im on da road and can cue up one lvcd cd on da laptop and enjoy da show.

  10. thanks man.. still havent quiet got it down to putting 120 mins on one cd, i guess i need to keep screwing with the settings... unfortunately, sefy's templates wont work on my standalone..

  11. Mack, the quality will plain suck if u plan to put more than 74 min per VCD....i think 44 min max for SVCD is good....some ppl say they can fit more per SVCD..but i prefer quality over less discs...

  12. mack,
im putting somewhere around the 2 hr mark for a movie.
I'll slice up a small 2 or 3 meg file and send it so you can more or less see what it'll look like before u start encoding to find out its not really what ur after.
Email me for more on the settingz i use.

  13. Can anyone tell me what the best way to rip a DVD to SVCD so it ALWAYS fits on 2 CD's? Is there a template or some kind of calculator for this?

  14. sako,
get FitCD http://members.tripod.de/fitcd/FitCD_v092.zip download, home page http://members.tripod.de/fitcd which supports .d2v files and generates avs scripts for you. and you can specify 2 or 3 cdz.
