I feel sick! I downloaded Freemake Video Converter today to rotate one teeny weeny clip (only 2 minutes long) of my granddaughter that had turned itself upside down when I moved it from my Samsung phone. The program worked fine and I was really happy till I noticed that every single video clip on my laptop now has the Yellow V in the bottom right corner. Why has that happened? I uninstalled the program hoping that all the yellow Vs would disappear with it, but of course they haven't. I'm an elderly grandma and this has really upset me! Can anyone please tell me what I can do to get rid of the Vs?????? I would be really, really, grateful!

Well no program can infest itself in videos it has not converted.
This is only a guess as I have no desire to try this but I suspect it installed it's own video player and has that logo built in to entice you to buy the program.
Now this step does depend on what players you have installed but try this:
Go to Windows Explorer and right-click on one of these 'infested' videos. Select 'Open With' and chose another player and not the one that has been chosen for you. If this fixes the issue then right-click on another, chose the same player as before and select this as your default player.
You could also go to Programs and Features from Control Panel and un-install this player that gives you the infestation. -
Some reviews on VideoHelp's software page for Freemake Video Converter noted that it watermarks the converted video and installs adware on the user's PC. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Vidcoder is listed as an alternative. Iit can output an mp4 file and I think it would be able to make the needed correction. It has a flip verticallly setting.Ignore list: hello_hello, tried, TechLord, Snoopy329 -
Bless you DB83 and unusually_quiet for replying to my post. I was so upset that I switched the laptop off and poured myself a brandy (well, it's 9pm in England and I was feeling very stressed!). I then got a notification on my phone that DB83 had replied, so I just switched the laptop back on to do what he suggested. Guess what??? Before I did anything I checked, and my clips are as they were before, so switching on and off did the trick. I am so grateful to both of you though - it's lovely when people try and help other people. Tell you what though - I'll never download anything from Freemake again. How dare they advertise on my video clips!!!!! Thank you both very, very, much! I'm a happy grandma (or I will be when I've had another brandy!!! Us oldies can't cope with all this techy stuff ...

Just save some for me
But glad that all is well right now. What concerns me though, as it did for you, how this could happen for ALL videos. Something could be lurking there or has now gone away after the un-install and reboot. -
The newest review, dated Dec 21, 2017, posted on Freemake Video Converter's page in VideoHelp's software section noted that it watermarks ALL videos in a very annoying way. Googling for ways to remove the logo led me to some pages indicating that donating to Freemake, buying their "Freemake Gold Pack", or buying their "Freemake Remove Branding" product would solve the problem. This seems a bit underhanded.
