Hello! I encode movies with Handbrake! I have a dedi 1x Intel Quad-Core E3-1270v5 32GB 480GB SSD Preconfig!
My encode time with that settings start from 25 minutes and max 36 minutes! For me its a long time and need better results with that settings! When i start encode the FPS its higher but after little time get lower and then need more time to encode! I use all the CPU when encode! What can i do for better encode times ?
My settings is:
Video codec: x264
Encoder Present: Very Fast
Avg Bitrate: I set manualy when i want to have the same size!
Resolution: 1920x1080
AC3 5.1 CH 224 birate
Burn Subs: Yes!
If you need more infos tell me!

What is the resolution of your source and what is the running time?

Assume 170,000 frames for close to two hour move
35 minutes = 2100 seconds
170,000/2100 = approx 80 frames per second - seems quite good for 1080p
Perhaps you can get a graphics card that can provide some HW acceleration -
Additional Hardware like a Good Discrete GPU can help.. Since you are maxed out on what the CPU can do

I was going to suggest trying Intel Quick Sync -- but that CPU doesn't support it.
