I have a few blu-ray movies that I would like to rip and upload to my plex server. I was planning on getting an external blu-ray ripper but I do not know which one I should get. Is there a blu-ray ripper someone can recommend me to purhcase? Also, which software or decypter should I use? I am not going to be doing any encode but instead just copying the blu-ray movies. I was thinking of getting the "Buffalo - 12x External USB 3.0 Blu-ray Disc Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive" from BestBuy is it a good blu-ray ripper? Heres a link to the item

Been using mamkemkv since 2009, loved it so much I bought a license as ita the only good option thats cross platform. It is still free right now though just gotta re register every month. There are a few trouble discs (mainly loinsgate titles) but the forums are awesome and the creator is very active. Far as drives I'm rather fond of my pioneer drives in a USB cradle and the standalone models. Had a buffalo, the bluray part died in 6 months.

if all else fails read the manual -
Maybe you are asking about which Blu-ray drive to use for ripping your Blu-ray movies rather than what ripping software to use? If so, internal SATA-connected drives are more reliable than USB-connected external drives.
Ripping Blu-ray discs takes time regardless of which drive is used. I timed it, and it took about 26 min to decrypt and copy a 31GB Blu-ray movie to my HDD.Ignore list: hello_hello, tried, TechLord, Snoopy329 -
My internal DVD/Blu-ray is one of these http://www.liteonodd.com/en/bd-internal/item/bdinternal/ihbs212 a bit old now but does the job. I transfer all my discs to my NAS and I don't attempt to compress, plenty of storage. I use MakeMKV and that's it apart from DVDFAb Passkey
