  1. I have recently downloaded a .AVI file that I want to convert to VCD, I am trying TMPGenc to do so! When I attempt to open the video portion, I get a message that the file format is not supported. I have installed the VFAPI plug-in, and the DiVX Cdec, and NEMO codec, and no luck! Any ideas for converting this??????????

Please open the avi in VirtualDub, select file > file information and post the file properties. Also try to increase the priority of the directshow multimedia file reader in TMPGEnc. >options > enviromental settings > VFAPI plugins.

  4. MAYDOG, I had the same problem just change the direct show priority in tmpgenc. If you re-read the first guide under converting go to the bottom of the guide it says problems with tmpgenc click here.and if you do it will explain in detail on how to change the direct show priority or something like that.Good luck let me know how it turns out

  5. vcd4me is correct. In the environment settings of TMPGEnc under VFAPI settings, bump up the priority settings of the DirectShow Filters higher than anything else in the list. By default it s at zero by the way. Mine is at 6 I think.
This also takes care of some of the sound synching problems encountered.

  6. AGUILLION, just out of curiosity why did you set it so high. the guide says to up it to 1 or 2. I really don't know what mine is set at(1 or 2) but it works everytime.
